Traveling to China is a very worthwhile thing. There are many beautiful and famous scenic spots in China. Every area has tourist attractions worth your visit. As a responsible and customer-oriented civilian travel service provider in China. One of the things we're going to talk to you today is why we don't recommend visiting China during Chinese holidays.

Chinese holidays are a rare time off for Chinese people. This period of time is different from the usual two-day weekend, that is,the holiday time is longer. These times are more conducive for Chinese people to arrange a long distance trip/tour/travel.As you can see from the map, China is a vast country. The distance from one province to another is enormous. Not to mention some of the attractions span several province.Even flying requires a longer vacation than a weekend.Enough long vacation time make it possible for Chinese people to have opportunity to travel from one province to another.

This has resulted in huge crowds at many scenic spots during the holidays. Unless you like the crowds, too. Otherwise, we do not recommend that you travel to China during Chinese holidays.

On our just-concluded May Day holiday. This is a tourist spectacle at the Great Wall, a famous scenic spot in Beijing, China. From the picture below you can see exactly how many people flock to the scenic spots during the holidays.

Crowds may affect your travel experience. So before you travel to China, you can check whether the travel time coincides with Chinese holidays. Then plan your trip according to whether you mind the crowds or not. Of course you can also ask us for advice. We are a Chinese company specializing in providing citizens from all over the world with travel services to China with affordable price.

Below is a list of some holidays in China. Some of these holidays are determined by the Chinese lunar calendar, and are not fixed dates every year. So we can't list it exactly.

Chinese Spring Festival

Spring Festival is the biggest festival in China. Usually 13-15 days off. The exact time is determined according to the Chinese lunar calendar. On this festival most people go back to their hometowns to reunite with their relatives. If you choose this time to visit China, many attractions will show they are closed( for the holidays). Many hotels and restaurants are also likely to be closed. But if you have someone close to you(friends and relatives ) in China, it will be a very interesting time for you to travel in China.

New Year's Day

The festival falls on the first day of the Gregorian calendar. Usually a day off. If it is combined with a weekend, it may become a three-day holiday

Lantern Festival

In most cases this festival no vacation time . The reason we put it list is that this festival is a very beautiful festival in ancient China. Many wonderful folk activities are held in this festival. It is very lively and exciting.

Qingming Festival

It is a festival used to sweep the graves and honor deceased loved ones. usually between April 3 and April 7 each year, about 3 days. Some of people will return to their hometown for a worship ceremony and meanwhile enjoy the Spring scenery of their hometown. Others people may choose to travel.

May Day Holiday

This Holiday starts on May 1 every year, about 3-5 daysand the specific end time depends on the holiday arrangement of the year.If it happens to coincide with the weekend, it is possible to add the two together or change the day off ,become a super long vacation.

Dragon Boat Festival

This holiday is calculated according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the specific time of the Gregorian calendar is uncertain. Usually in June, about 3 days.

Mid-Autumn Festival

This holiday is calculated according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the specific time of the Gregorian calendar is uncertain. Usually between mid-September and mid-October.about 3 days.

National Day Holiday

It starts on October 1 every year, about 5-7 daysand the specific end time depends on the holiday arrangement of the year.If it happens to coincide with the weekend, it is possible to add the two together or change the day off ,become a super long vacation.

Some of these holidays will occasionally be close to the weekend date, forming a very long holiday. In addition to the public festivals listed above, there are some minority festivals that we have not listed. If you don't like crowds, you can avoid these holiday trips. But there may also be some regrets. Because avoiding the festival holidays may make you miss some of the only delicious food that can be eaten during the holidays, such as Dragon Boat Festival Zongzi and Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncakes, and miss some of the only ethnic performances that can be enjoyed during the holidays like Dragon Boat Race.

In addition to the crowd congested in the scenic spots during the holidays, the traffic will also become relatively congested. There is a roughly positive correlation between congestion degree and whether the travel destination you are going to is a popular or not.

The third reason why we do not recommend you to travel to China during the Chinese holidays is that hotel costs may rise significantly during this period. This is unfriendly to customers who do not have sufficient budgets. If you set a fixed amount of travel fee, this fee allows you to stay 3-5 days longer during non-holiday periods than during holiday periods. Staying a few more days for the same price means you can see more sights. How would you choose? This is something you need to think for yourself.

The cost of airfare will also go up significantly. The airfare mentioned here does not refer to the cost of this part of your trip to China. It's the transportation expense you move in China from one province to another or from one city to another . Of course, it may also be other means of transportation, such as high-speed rail, train ,taxi and so on.

In general, the above mentioned points - crowded tourist attractions, traffic congestion, rising hotel costs, rising transportation costs, are the reasons why we do not recommend you to travel to China during Chinese holidays. Of course, if you don't mind, it's a good time to come. After all, these times are much more lively than usual. You can meet lots of Chinese people. Different choices make for different travel stories.
