As rural areas vary greatly from region to region, there is no single standard for this type of product. Experiences may differ depending on the distribution of local tourism resources. Although this model differs from city-based travel, it does not mean a compromised experience — on the contrary, it often brings unexpected delights.

It should be noted that rural areas are naturally different from cities. Accommodation, transportation and dining arrangements may not meet the comfort standards of urban travel services. Therefore, if you choose this rural travel option, please be mentally prepared for a noticeable difference in comfort level compared with city tours.

Before starting your trip to China, the first thing to check is whether you already have a valid passport. For first-time international travelers, getting a passport is the starting point of the entire journey.

If you do not yet have a passport, you will generally need to prepare a valid form of identification and apply through the passport authority in your country. The specific process and required documents may vary, so it is recommended to check the official guidelines in advance and allow enough time for processing.

If you already have a passport, there is no need to apply again. However, it is still important to review its status before your trip. Make sure it remains valid for at least six months, has sufficient blank pages for visas and entry stamps, and is in good condition without any damage or irregularities.

A passport is a long-term travel document and can be used for multiple trips within its validity period, so it does not need to be renewed for every journey. That said, as it is essential for international travel, you should keep it safe and consider having a digital or printed copy as a backup.

Itinerary Planning

The rural areas across China's north, south, east, west and central regions each have their own unique characteristics. Therefore, before designing your itinerary, we first need to understand which region you are interested in visiting. If you already have a preferred destination, we will build the travel plan directly around that area.

If you have not decided on a destination yet, we can also provide a selection of well-developed itineraries for you to browse and choose from, helping you better understand the different rural travel experiences across China.

During the initial communication stage, we will also collect some basic information, including your travel dates, duration of stay, number of travelers, and any other specific requirements. Once these details are confirmed, we will provide a clear pricing structure and quotation based on your selected itinerary. The overall cost structure is transparent and easy to understand, allowing for better budget planning.

Throughout the planning and adjustment process, you are welcome to share your preferences at any time. We will further discuss and refine the itinerary together until the final travel plan and pricing are confirmed.

In general, payment is made after the visa application has been successfully approved. If the trip is ultimately not started, 5% of the total amount will be retained as a cancellation fee, and the remaining balance will be refunded.

Visa Application

Once your itinerary is confirmed, you can begin applying for your visa to China. A visa is a mandatory legal requirement for foreign travelers entering China, so it is advisable to plan ahead and allow sufficient processing time to avoid any disruption to your travel schedule.

Before submitting your application, you should first determine the appropriate visa type. For standard sightseeing trips, a tourist visa is typically sufficient. At the same time, please refer to the latest official requirements from the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country or region and prepare all necessary documents in advance. These usually include a passport with sufficient validity, a completed visa application form, a standard passport photo, as well as supporting documents such as round-trip flight reservations, accommodation bookings, and a travel itinerary. Specific requirements may vary slightly by location, so it is strongly recommended that you check official guidelines beforehand and prepare accordingly.

During the application process, we will provide supporting assistance as needed, including officially formatted itineraries, invitation letters (if required) and other officially recognized materials, to help ensure a smooth submission.

Processing times may vary depending on your location, application period, and document review procedures. We recommend applying as early as possible and allowing ample time, especially during peak seasons, to ensure your overall travel plans proceed smoothly.

Flight Booking

You may begin arranging your flight booking while your visa application is in progress or after it has been approved. Once your itinerary is confirmed, your arrival city is usually determined as well. For travelers choosing the Rural Tourism Model, most destinations do not have direct international access. You will typically need to arrive in a nearby major city first, and then continue your journey by high-speed rail, domestic flights, or ground transportation. Therefore, when booking flights, it is important to align with your itinerary, prioritize entry cities that are closer to your destination with convenient connections, and consider factors such as travel dates, layovers, total flight time, and pricing within your budget.

Flight costs usually make up a significant portion of the overall budget. Round-trip tickets are generally recommended, as they are often more cost-effective and are also more easily accepted during visa review and immigration checks. As for arrival times, there is no need for concern. Transportation options such as taxis, ride-hailing services, and airport shuttle buses are typically available throughout the day and usually operate until the last arriving flight. Fares are regulated, so there is normally no significant surcharge for different time periods. And we also offer airport transfer services, which you may choose if needed.

During the booking process, please make sure that all personal details, including your name and passport information, are entered exactly as shown on your passport to avoid any issues with boarding or subsequent travel. It is also advisable to select tickets that allow changes or cancellations, in case of visa delays or itinerary adjustments, helping to minimize potential losses.

If you would like us to assist with flight booking, we will recommend suitable flight options based on your confirmed travel dates, destination, and specific requirements for your final confirmation. The flight cost and service fee will be included in the total package price. If you prefer to book your own flights, you may also entrust us with flight inquiries only, to avoid price discrepancies and additional airfare costs caused by information gaps.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is designed to address unexpected situations during your trip, such as delays, lost baggage, medical emergencies, and accidents, providing financial protection and contingency support throughout your journey. For this reason, we generally recommend that travelers arrange appropriate insurance before departure. For international travel in particular, insurance can offer essential protection and help avoid significant financial burden in case of unforeseen events.

In terms of coverage, it is advisable to prioritize key items such as medical expenses, personal accident coverage, and emergency medical assistance. These are especially important when traveling abroad and can effectively reduce risks in unexpected situations. When purchasing insurance, please ensure that the coverage period includes your entire stay in China, with an additional one to two days as a buffer in case of flight delays or itinerary changes. It is also important to carefully review the coverage details, exclusions, and claims procedures to ensure the policy meets your travel needs.

After arranging your insurance, we recommend keeping both digital and printed copies of your policy for easy access if required. If needed, we can also provide general guidance based on your itinerary to help you choose a suitable insurance plan.

Luggage Preparation

Preparing your luggage in advance according to your itinerary can greatly improve the comfort and convenience of your trip. It is recommended to consider your travel dates, length of stay, and the climate of your destination when packing, so as to avoid bringing too much or missing essential items.

As a general guide, you may include the following: your passport and visa documents, flight information and itinerary confirmation, clothing suitable for the local weather, basic medications and personal necessities, mobile phone and charging devices, as well as a reasonable amount of cash and payment methods such as bank cards or credit cards.

Clothing choices are closely related to your destination. In China, clothing needs vary significantly by season, and even within the same season, different regions may have noticeable temperature differences. For example, southern regions are usually milder in spring, while northern areas may still be quite cold. Our team will provide you with weather updates for your travel dates and destination, along with appropriate clothing suggestions to help you prepare accordingly. 

For travelers choosing the Rural Tourism Model, it is advisable to bring one or two extra warm layers to accommodate temperature changes. In addition, as rural areas may not have the same infrastructure as cities, and your itinerary may include farming activities, outdoor experiences, or countryside walking, it is recommended to bring suitable outdoor clothing and comfortable, durable footwear.

In terms of packing, it is generally advisable to bring appropriate clothing from home to avoid unnecessary expenses. However, there is no need for excessive concern if something is missing. Even in rural areas, basic clothing items are usually available for purchase nearby at reasonable prices for emergency use.

When packing, make sure to keep all important documents with you, including your passport, visa, flight details, and insurance policy, and store them in an easily accessible place. It is also recommended to keep digital copies, such as on your phone or in cloud storage, in case of loss or emergencies.

Before departure, please also check your airline’s baggage allowance, including weight and size limits, to avoid extra charges for oversized or overweight luggage. Payment Setup

Before your trip, it is recommended to become familiar with commonly used mobile payment platforms in China, such as WeChat Pay and Alipay. These applications are widely accepted across the country and cover most daily payment scenarios. You may download and explore their basic functions in advance, but full payment functionality typically requires identity verification after entry into China. This usually includes uploading passport information and providing an officially recognized valid entry record before the payment features can be fully activated.

In addition to payment apps, you may also wish to familiarize yourself with some commonly used daily applications, such as navigation tools, ride-hailing services, translation tools, basic communication apps, and social media platforms. These applications can be very helpful in daily travel and communication. However, there is no need to worry—if you are not familiar with them, we will also provide guidance after your arrival to help you get used to them quickly.

Although this trip is based on the Rural Tourism Model, mobile payment is highly developed in China, and most rural areas also support WeChat Pay and Alipay for everyday transactions, covering the majority of consumption needs.

However, compared to urban travel, cash is still used to a certain extent in rural areas, especially in small local shops or market settings. Therefore, it is also recommended to carry a reasonable amount of cash as a supplementary payment method to ensure a smoother travel experience.

Departure & Boarding

On the day of departure, you can head to the airport to check in and begin your journey. For international flights, it is generally recommended to arrive at least 2 to 3 hours in advance to allow sufficient time for check-in, baggage drop, and security procedures. Before departure, you may also confirm with us by email or message that your trip has officially started, so we can initiate the corresponding arrangements on our side.

Upon arrival at the airport, follow the instructions to complete check-in and collect your boarding pass. If you have checked baggage, this can be handled at the check-in counter. After check-in, you will proceed through security screening and exit immigration. It is advisable to have your passport, visa, itinerary, and boarding pass readily available to ensure a smooth process.

Before boarding, please pay close attention to your flight information and boarding time, and proceed to the designated gate as instructed. As some airports have gates located at a distance, it is recommended to allow sufficient time to avoid missing your flight.

During the flight, please keep your important documents and personal belongings secure. For longer flights, you may consider bringing basic comfort items such as a neck pillow or headphones to improve your travel experience.

Immigration Procedures

Flights will typically arrive at an international airport closest to your rural travel route. After landing, you will generally need to complete an arrival card. All international airports in China are equipped with self-service kiosks where you can fill in and print the form by following on-screen instructions. Required information usually includes your name, passport details, flight number, and your address in China. Once completed, simply print and sign the form. Compared to filling it out on a mobile device, this method does not require internet access and is more convenient.

After filling in the arrival card, you are also required to complete facial recognition and fingerprint collection for biometric registration. This is a standard entry procedure. Facial features and fingerprints are unique biological identifiers. They are mainly used to accurately compare passport information and confirm personal identity, prevent others from entering with stolen or fake documents, screen terror-related personnel and illegal overstayers, and curb illegal entry and human smuggling.This is merely a normal entry procedure of a country. We believe that no matter which country one travels to, one should voluntarily abide by the entry regulations of that country.

You may then proceed to the immigration counters to complete entry procedures. You will need to present your passport and the completed and signed arrival card, and follow the instructions of the immigration officers. You may be asked a few basic questions, such as the purpose of your visit, length of stay, and accommodation details. In most cases, providing truthful answers is sufficient. Once approved, an entry stamp will be placed in your passport.

In fact, after completing biometric registration, travelers may also choose to use self-service immigration lanes for entry to reduce waiting time in manual queues. However, iin case of special circumstances, you may still be directed to a staffed counter for further verification. 

After clearing immigration, proceed to the baggage claim area to collect your checked luggage. Once you have your belongings, continue to the customs inspection area. If you have nothing to declare, you may use the "Nothing to Declare" channel. If you are carrying items that require declaration, please proceed through the "Goods to Declare" channel and follow the necessary procedures. After completing the above steps, you can then leave the airport.

Airport Transfer

You may freely decide whether to use our airport transfer service based on your personal needs.  If you choose our  pickup service, we will go to the airport to wait for you according to your flight schedule. Regardless of your arrival time, we will wait there timely .Our staff will usually hold a sign at the arrival exit or contact you via an agreed method to ensure a smooth meet-up. To address potential issues with low phone battery or limited internet access upon arrival, we generally provide power banks and portable Wi-Fi for temporary use.

If you prefer not to use our transfer service,that's completely fine. You may take airport transportation on your own to the accommodation for rest. Available options include taxis, ride-hailing services, and airport shuttle buses. For those arriving during the day, metro systems and city buses are also available, offering greater flexibility in transportation choices.

For the first day, we generally recommend a light schedule focused on rest. It is advisable to stay in the arrival city upon landing to recover from long-haul travel and adjust to the time difference. The arrangement is flexible rather than fixed and can be adjusted based on your arrival time and personal condition. If you arrive earlier in the day and feel well, we may proceed directly to the first stop of your rural itinerary for rest. If you arrive late at night, it is recommended to stay overnight in the arrival city and then depart for rural destination the following day.

Whether you proceed directly to the first stop of your rural itinerary or stay in the arrival city for rest, we have directly managed accommodation resources in multiple cities that can be flexibly arranged to match your itinerary. At the same time, you are free to choose your own accommodation based on your preferences. If you prefer to stay in hotels, you may make your own arrangements.We recommend our directly supplied accommodations primarily because they are more cost-effective, helping you save on lodging expenses and allocate more of your budget to other experiences, allowing you to enjoy your trip more fully.

Villages in the north, south, east, west, and central parts of the country may differ significantly in terms of natural environment, climate, local customs, food culture, and ways of life. As a result, the experience offered by each route can also be quite different.

Unlike other tourism models centered around cities, rural tourism is not planned around urban attractions, commercial districts, or fixed tourist facilities. Instead, itineraries are arranged according to local rural resources, seasonal conditions, and the actual rhythm of village life. Overall, the journey usually focuses on countryside scenery, local customs, daily life, and the surrounding natural environment.

In terms of routing, the Rural Tourism Model often involves a certain level of mobility. For example, travelers may move from one village or rural town to another. This itself reflects the original layout of rural China, where villages are often spread apart rather than concentrated in one area. In some regions, distances between villages may be relatively long. However, different villages often offer different scenery, lifestyles, and experiences, which is also part of the appeal of rural travel.

Depending on the region, some itineraries may focus more on mountain villages, farmland, and countryside walking, while others may emphasize traditional festivals, local markets, regional cuisine, or ethnic cultural experiences. Transportation Arrangements

Transportation arrangements under the Rural Tourism Model differ considerably from those of city-based travel. Since many rural areas are located far from one another, public transportation coverage can be limited, and travelers'luggage needs to move together with them throughout the journey, self-driving is more suitable for the overall itinerary.Though there may be public transport connecting different villages,waiting times can sometimes be very long and such idle waiting hours are not cost-effective for the travel itinerary.Moreover it's also very inconvenient to carry luggage.

For longer-distance travel, such as moving from one village or rural town to another, we generally arrange transportation using company-operated vehicles. Depending on actual conditions, ride-hailing services or carpool-style transportation may also be used for certain segments in order to improve flexibility and connection efficiency throughout the journey.

Transportation itself in the rural tourism model is also considered part of the travel experience. After arriving in a specific village or rural area, short-distance travel may involve local transportation options such as shared bicycles, shared electric scooters, or scenic shuttle buses. In some tourist areas, official shuttle transportation may even be mandatory due to local management regulations.

In addition, some regions may offer opportunities to experience traditional local means of transportation, such as horse-drawn carts or donkey carts. While these forms of transport may not provide the same comfort level as urban transportation, they are part of the local way of life. Experiencing them can also help travelers better understand the everyday living environment of local residents.

Different regions may also feature different transportation experiences. Under the Rural Tourism Model, accommodation is usually arranged locally after arriving in each village or rural town, based on the actual itinerary. Since most destinations are located in rural areas, accommodation costs are generally relatively affordable.

In some larger or more well-known villages and towns, we may have directly supplied accommodation resources available. However, these resources are not yet fully available across all regions, so we cannot guarantee that every route will include our directly managed accommodations. We are continuously gathering information on more local accommodation providers willing to host travelers, and reservations are usually arranged in advance once the itinerary is confirmed.

Regarding accommodation cooperation, we generally avoid maintaining exclusive long-term partnerships with a single accommodation provider. This is mainly to prevent situations such as temporary price increases that could affect our clients'interests. Keeping multiple accommodation options available also allows us to compare and coordinate arrangements more flexibly, helping travelers reduce lodging expenses.

In most cases, accommodations will be arranged within villages or nearby rural towns to make subsequent travel more convenient. However, rural travel naturally involves a certain level of unpredictability, such as weather changes, transportation conditions, or itinerary adjustments. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that unexpected situations will never occur. If a planned accommodation stop is missed due to special circumstances, temporary solutions such as camping, resting in the vehicle, or staying with local rural families may occasionally be necessary. Of course, these situations are not considered normal arrangements, and we will do our best to avoid them in advance.

Accommodation conditions in rural areas may generally be more modest. In some regions, facilities, internet access, and overall convenience may not fully match urban hotel standards. Even so, when making arrangements, we will still try to prioritize accommodations with relatively stable hygiene conditions and overall acceptable living environments in order to ensure a basic level of comfort. Travelers need to be mentally prepared for those accommodation conditions.

Internet Arrangements

After entering China, internet access will be essential for staying in touch with family and friends, as well as for using social media, navigation services, online payments, and other daily travel functions. Upon arrival at the airport, we usually provide portable Wi-Fi for temporary use to help travelers handle basic online needs after landing.

If you wish to continue using certain existing applications or communicate through social media platforms from your home country, a VPN service is generally required. This kind of service is usually provided by third-party companies and need to be purchased and configured independently. If you are unsure how to set it up, you may also ask us for assistance, and we will do our best to provide basic guidance.

For international SMS verification or emergency communication purposes, we recommend keeping your home-country phone number active and enabling a basic international roaming package as a backup. A minimal roaming plan is usually sufficient.

Throughout the entire rural itinerary, we generally provide portable Wi-Fi for your use to meet basic internet needs. However, since parts of the trip may involve rural or remote areas, some locations may experience weaker signals or less stable network coverage. If you have higher requirements for network stability, you may also consider purchasing a Chinese SIM card as a backup. Of course, even without one, our service staff's phone can also be used for urgent communication if necessary.

Network conditions at some accommodation stops along the travel route may not be as stable as those in cities, so internet access during the stay mainly rely on the portable Wi-Fi we provide. Overall, however, internet infrastructure in rural China is now relatively well developed, and most areas can generally support normal daily internet usage. Only in sparsely populated or more remote regions may the signal become relatively weaker.

Meal Arrangements

Under the Rural Tourism Model, meals are generally arranged according to the actual itinerary. Whatever local specialties are available in the area, we will usually guide travelers to experience those local food traditions. Since rural areas across different regions vary in landscape, climate, and ethnic culture, the dining experience may also differ greatly from one route to another.

Chinese regional cuisine itself is highly distinctive. On some routes, travelers may also have the opportunity to try local ethnic specialty foods or traditional rural dishes unique to the area.In addition, some local foods and ingredients in rural areas are seasonal. Visiting the same region at different times of the year may bring completely different culinary experiences. In many cases, these seasonal variations can become unexpected highlights of the journey.

Overall, we prefer to let travelers experience local food culture in a way that follows the actual rhythm of rural life, rather than limiting meals to fully standardized menus. At the same time, while maintaining the authenticity of the experience, we will also try to ensure a basic level of dietary comfort and adaptability.

Return Arrangements

Under the Rural Tourism Model, return arrangements are generally based on the original itinerary plan and flight booking schedule. Some routes may return along the same path, while others may depart from the final village stop to a nearby city after the itinerary ends. From there, travelers will continue by high-speed rail, domestic flights, or ground transportation to the city where the international airport is located for a short rest, before taking their international flight home. In many cases, this option is more time-efficient and helps reduce fatigue caused by repeating the same travel route.

If a short stay in a city is still required before departure, we will also assist with accommodation arrangements, transportation connections, and airport transfer services based on the actual situation, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated return process.

Before departure, we recommend reconfirming your passport, flight ticket, carry-on luggage, and important personal belongings to avoid any omissions. It is also advisable to allow sufficient time to reach the airport, in order to account for possible delays caused by holidays, peak travel periods, or weather conditions.

Souvenir Shipping Service

During the rural travel itinerary, if you purchase a large number of souvenirs or items that are bulky, you may choose to have them shipped back to your home country or a designated address by paying the corresponding service fee. For small and easy-to-carry items, you may simply take them with you.

Please note that we are unable to provide shipping services for items that are prohibited or restricted by customs regulations. We also recommend avoiding the purchase or transport of such items to prevent any issues during customs clearance.
